In implementation of the directives of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, under the sponsorship of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and under the supervision and follow-up of the Dean of Karbala Polytechnic College, Prof. Dr. Fadel Mohammed Dhaher, the Health Guidance Committee at the Karbala Polytechnic College procession continues to implement its educational and awareness programs directed at the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him), as part of the humanitarian and health services provided by the college during the blessed Arbaeen pilgrimage.
The activities included distributing informative folders and leaflets containing a set of health and preventive instructions and advice, alongside providing direct guidance to pilgrims on ways to prevent heat stress, dehydration, and injuries resulting from walking long distances, as well as enhancing health awareness to maintain their safety throughout the pilgrimage period.
The committee emphasized that these events come within the framework of efforts aimed at spreading health culture among pilgrims and reducing potential health risks, by providing simplified information and guidelines that contribute to promoting proper health behaviors during the pilgrims’ march towards the holy city of Karbala.
The Health Guidance Committee continues its field activities in coordination with other committees operating in the procession, with the participation of a number of academic staff, affiliates, and volunteer students, ensuring the provision of integrated awareness services that reflect the spirit of cooperation and giving that characterizes this blessed occasion.
This effort comes as part of the service and awareness program implemented by Karbala Polytechnic College, in alignment with the directions of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in enhancing the social responsibility of academic institutions, spreading health awareness, and actively contributing to serving the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) during the blessed Arbaeen pilgrimage.
