Within the framework of Karbala Polytechnic College’s strategy aimed at enhancing academic and administrative performance and consolidating a culture of institutional excellence, the College Council held its first session for the 2026–2027 academic year. The session was chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Fadel Mohammed Dhaher, and attended by the council members, to discuss a number of scientific, administrative, and organizational files listed on the session’s agenda.
The Dean commenced the session with a speech in which he welcomed the council members, offering congratulations on the occasion of the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him and His Family), and on the occasion of the start of the new academic year. He praised the efforts exerted by the academic and administrative staff, as well as the achieved results and accomplishments that have contributed to supporting the college’s journey and developing its performance.
The session witnessed the honoring of a number of academic staff and affiliates in appreciation of their giving and their scientific and administrative excellence. The honoring included Asst. Prof. Dr. Laila Jawad Hussein on the occasion of her scientific promotion to the rank of Assistant Professor, Mr. Abdul-Hussein Musa Mohammed on the occasion of his promotion to the rank of Assistant Professor, and Mr. Allawi Nima Abdul-Zahra on the occasion of his promotion to the rank of Lecturer. In addition, it included the honoring of Asst. Prof. Dr. Bushra Jawad Mohammed Ridha, Asst. Lect. Amira Abdul-Wahhab Fuleifel, and Asst. Lect. Iman Baqir Amin in appreciation of their efforts in the examination question withdrawal committee, alongside Asst. Lect. Saad Nahi Shaker in appreciation of his efforts during his tenure as Director of the Dean’s Office.
The council discussed a number of directives and recommendations, foremost of which was emphasizing active participation in the Iraqi Science Day, and promoting evening studies at the college after the introduction of four new departments for the current academic year. This was alongside completing preparations for the final examinations for the second attempt, and providing the necessary requirements to ensure the smooth flow of the examination process.
The session also addressed plans for developing infrastructure, rehabilitating classrooms, and improving the educational environment. It covered completing the requirements of digital transformation and activating the electronic platforms approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as supporting sustainability projects and enhancing cooperation with governmental and community institutions.
The Dean emphasized the importance of continuing to work with a team spirit, enhancing the culture of achievement and creativity, and following up on academic and administrative files in a way that aligns with the college’s plans and directions in developing education, training, and community service.
