Within the framework of its commitment to elevating engineering skills, the Civil Technologies Department at Karbala Technical Institute organized a specialized training program titled “Methods of Using Surveying Instruments in Civil Works and Elevation Determination.” The program, presented by Lecturer Dr. Raida Khudair Ali, witnessed significant attendance and interaction from the participants.
The program aimed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to use modern surveying instruments in various civil works and elevation determination. This contributes to developing their capabilities in this field using the latest available technologies. The program covered basic axes, including familiarization with modern surveying instruments used in leveling works, with a special focus on the level instrument and its practical applications. It also included a detailed explanation of the types of common errors in leveling works and how to avoid them.
The training was distinguished by its focus on the practical aspect, as it included intensive training on direct and inverted leveling works to enhance the participants’ field skills. In addition, the program touched upon measuring horizontal and vertical angles using the theodolite instrument. The program was designed to combine simplified theoretical explanation with intensive practical application to ensure that participants understand the working mechanism of the instruments and effectively enhance their field capabilities.
