The Building and Construction Technology Engineering Department at Karbala Polytechnic College organized a workshop titled “Pioneering the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Evaluating and Maintaining Sustainable Roads,” presented by Asst. Lect. Doaa Falah Rasool, with the participation of a number of faculty members and staff.
The workshop addressed the role of Artificial Intelligence techniques in evaluating and maintaining sustainable roads through the analysis of engineering data and predicting the deterioration of pavement layers. This contributes to supporting engineering decision-making and improving the efficiency of road network management.
The workshop also focused on linking Artificial Intelligence techniques with approved engineering indicators such as the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and Level of Service (LOS). It clarified the impact of predictive maintenance in reducing operational costs and increasing the service life of the road, which contributes to achieving sustainability in modern transportation systems.
