The Building and Construction Technology Engineering Department at Karbala Polytechnic College organized a workshop titled “The Pioneering Role of Modern Road Barriers in Increasing Traffic Safety.” It was presented by faculty member Raida Khudair Ali, with the participation of a number of the department and projects unit staff, at the Continuing Education Hall.
The workshop aimed to introduce the latest types of flexible road barriers and their uses in reducing accidents and limiting the severity of collisions, while explaining the importance of adopting these technologies in infrastructure projects to contribute to enhancing the traffic safety system.
The workshop’s topics included a review of the types of modern road barriers, their installation mechanisms, and places of use, as well as the technical conditions necessary for their installation. It also presented the most prominent benefits achieved from their application and the countries that adopt these technologies within their engineering standards.
The lecturer called for the necessity of adopting modern engineering solutions in the design and implementation of road projects, and benefiting from pioneering international experiences to reduce traffic accidents and achieve the highest levels of safety.
This activity comes within the framework of the directions of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and in harmony with the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research aimed at elevating the quality of university education and enhancing the partnership between the academic institution and society.
