Ministry of Higher Education Honors Karbala Technical Institute for Leading the 2024 Iraqi University Rankings

In an official ceremony organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Karbala Technical Institute—one of the formations of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University—was honored in recognition of its outstanding performance in the 2024 Iraqi University Ranking for public and private institutions.

The recognition was presented by Professor Dr. Salah Hadi Saleh Al-Fatlawi, Head of the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority, who awarded Certificates of Excellence to the Departments of Mechanical Technologies and Electrical Technologies. The certificates were received by Professor Dr. Fadhil Mohammed Thahir, Dean of the Institute, in appreciation of the Institute’s efforts in achieving top-tier positions among academic departments across Iraqi universities.

According to the ranking results, the Mechanical Technologies and Electrical Technologies departments at the Institute secured first place among their counterparts in both public universities and private colleges. This achievement reflects the Institute’s excellence in academic and administrative performance, as well as the high quality of its education and training programs.

The Iraqi University Ranking is a national benchmarking tool designed to evaluate institutional performance and the quality of educational outcomes. It is based on scientifically established standards and internationally recognized indicators, including research quality, academic accreditation, community service, graduate employability, and the campus environment.

Upon receiving the Award of Excellence, the Dean expressed his profound pride in this achievement, emphasizing that it is the result of the collective efforts of the teaching staff, administrative personnel, and students. He reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to further developing its academic programs and enhancing its research and innovation environment, in alignment with the goals of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in pursuit of advancing the quality of technical education in Iraq.
