The Construction and Projects Unit carries out all engineering activities for Karbala Polytechnic College and is affiliated with the Construction and Projects Department at the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University. The work is organized in accordance with engineering specifications, the Resident Engineer’s Guide, and general contracting conditions. The process begins with identifying the needs of each department, setting future project plans, and selecting appropriate sites. The unit also focuses on infrastructure development to foster an optimal university environment that keeps pace with scientific and engineering advancements. The unit’s primary responsibilities include managing investment plan projects (funded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research) and overseeing regional development projects.

To develop an integrated university environment by establishing buildings, lecture halls, and laboratories capable of accommodating the increasing number of students and staff. We aim to keep pace with global urban developments to produce graduates with high academic and technical standards who embody the excellence of the Iraqi technical professional. Our goal is to empower graduates to secure career opportunities and contribute to scientific progress, while planning for an alternative university campus in a more suitable location that meets the highest international standards.
The Unit’s mandate is to establish strategic plans for the renovation of existing facilities and the development of new infrastructure that aligns with the latest global standards in civil and architectural engineering. These plans are designed to elevate the College to advanced global rankings across all fields, ensuring continuous growth in line with international academic and architectural advancements.
The primary objective of the Unit is to support the preparation and graduation of a highly skilled engineering workforce, capable of driving the nation’s reconstruction and advancement, by providing a modern and sophisticated academic environment. This involves overseeing the construction of advanced facilities that align with the scientific progress of the College’s academic departments, research centers, and administrative units.
