The Council of Karbala Technical Institute held its eighth open session (part two) for the 2024–2025 academic year, chaired by the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Fadel Mohammed Thaher, in the presence of council members as well as a number of division and unit directors.
The session opened with a welcoming address by the Dean, followed by a ceremony honoring distinguished faculty and staff members for their outstanding efforts and achievements. Among those recognized were:
- Professor Dr. Thaera Abdul Jabbar Saleh for her exceptional contributions in the Student Activities Division
- Professor Dr. Wathiq Lafta Abd Ali on his promotion to the rank of Professor
- Assistant Professor Mahmoud Hakem Anad on his promotion to Assistant Professor
- Assistant Professor Ali Abdul Hussein Jabr for his outstanding performance
- Dr. Ahmad Abdul Amir Subh
- Lecturer Mohammed Abdul Baqi Abdul Mohsen
- Assistant Lecturer Israa Hassan Jawad
- Assistant Lecturer Hussein Subeih Mohsen

These recognitions were made in appreciation of their dedication and excellence in fulfilling their assigned responsibilities.
The council then proceeded to review directives from the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Lateef Kazem Al-Zubaidi. These included an emphasis on fostering cooperation with other university units through communication and academic collaboration, continued oversight of final exam procedures for the 2024–2025 academic year, completion of the master sheet, and attention to infrastructure and reconstruction projects. Additionally, the importance of initiating scientific projects across all departments was highlighted to optimize resource utilization in line with the university’s mission to provide high-quality technical education.
In his remarks, the Dean reaffirmed the importance of closely monitoring the final examination processes, discussing ongoing support, readiness, and logistical arrangements in exam halls and facilities. The council also addressed the performance of subcommittees and invigilators, the mechanism for grading exam booklets by examination committees, and the implementation of outcomes from previous sessions to enhance the educational process at the institute. Necessary decisions and recommendations were made to ensure continued progress toward institutional goals.
