Within the framework of the university’s directions and its endeavor to elevate the educational and service reality, adopt renewable energies, and achieve sustainable development goals, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, inaugurated the recently established Renewable Energy Technologies Department, in addition to an integrated CNC workshop at Karbala Technical Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The department includes laboratories equipped with all necessary requirements, including devices, furniture, and equipment, making them model laboratories that ensure high-quality training for students. This is in addition to the CNC workshop, which provides educational services to students as well as technical services for the university’s uses in various fields. The university, across all its formations, is witnessing a comprehensive campaign in the fields of reconstruction, building, and infrastructure rehabilitation, making the works provided by this workshop highly necessary. These works include specially designed wooden and metal partitions, decorations, identification panels, signage, and other uses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Al-Zuhairi delivered a speech on the occasion of the inauguration, pointing to the importance of opening this department, which simulates the requirements of the labor market. The primary goal of the university is to equip the student with ability and skill, adopting the philosophy of technical education focused on the practical aspect, which constitutes approximately 60% to 70% of the study curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The University President affirmed that the university has given priority to such departments and laboratories related to the application of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) announced by the United Nations in its 2030 Agenda, as the university has commenced applying these goals in many initiatives across all formations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Al-Zuhairi also inaugurated an exhibition of the scientific products and research projects of students and professors. He reviewed some of the scientific books authored by the institute’s staff to enrich the scientific arena, in addition to patents and scientific certificates obtained by the staff during their participation in international scientific conferences. In the same context, the University President inaugurated the recently completed new entrance to the institute, which utilizes an electronic system to facilitate the entry of students, guests, and visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On another note, the Dean of Karbala Technical Institute, Prof. Dr. Fadel Mohammed Dhaher, extended his thanks and appreciation to the University Presidency for the support it provides to all formations, praising all the efforts that resulted in achieving these accomplishments. In conclusion, the University President honored a number of staff members who had a distinguished role in accomplishing the scientific and construction projects at the institute, wishing everyone continued success in their endeavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
