\n \n The library is a cultural, educational, and scientific institution dedicated to serving the community of students and faculty affiliated with the institute. It provides them with all the information they need for their studies, including books, journals, theses, and research papers.\n <\/span>\n<\/p>\n\n

\n Library Unit Responsibilities<\/span><\/b>\n :<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n  <\/span>\n<\/p>\n\n\n

\n 1. Issuing student library IDs free of charge.\n<\/p>\n

\n 2. Managing internal and external loans for students according to the library\u2019s electronic borrowing system and following the rules specified by the Technical Education Authority\u2019s regulations (letter no. 27\/2\/12462 on 19\/7\/2009).\n<\/p>\n

\n 3. Conducting periodic inventory and cataloging of books, resources, and theses available in the library.\n<\/p>\n

\n 4. Receiving and delivering mail continuously and responding to incoming emails.\n<\/p>\n

\n 5. Participating in activities organized by academic and humanities departments, and workshops held at the library from time to time.\n<\/p>\n

\n 6. Hosting events conducted by the institute that are communicated to the library unit.\n<\/p>\n

\n 7. Ensuring students can study and conduct research in the reading hall in a quiet academic environment, under the supervision of library staff.\n<\/p>\n

\n 8. Monitoring the books and materials received by the library, ensuring they are cataloged and stored according to the current regulations.\n<\/p>\n

\n 9. Regularly updating the library with new books and materials.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

10. Assisting students with their research by providing them with scientific resources and books through internal and external loans, as per the current regulations.<\/p>\n

11. Maintaining the library unit and ensuring the proper upkeep of the library’s external gardens, creating a conducive study environment for students.<\/p>\n

12. Monitoring the library\u2019s email daily.<\/p>\n

13. Overseeing the libraries of academic and humanities departments.<\/p>\n

14. Assisting in the general inventory of library books, including verification and printing with the inventory committee, either annually or unannounced.<\/p>\n

15. Monitoring the “Henry” medical journal in cooperation with the Community Health Department through the journal\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

16. Overseeing the creation of an electronic library for academic and humanities departments by facilitating the downloading of relevant books in disk format for easier access.<\/p>\n

17. Monitoring the library\u2019s periodical publications.<\/p>\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n Library Regulations and Guidelines:<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n \u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n 1-<\/span><\/b> The library provides services to faculty, students, and staff.<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n 2-<\/span><\/b> Each user is issued a library ID that contains a personal photo.<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n 3-<\/span><\/b> Only users with an ID are allowed to borrow books.<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n 4-<\/span><\/b> The borrowing period for faculty members is one week, with a maximum of five books.<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n 5-<\/span><\/b> Graduate students can borrow books for five days, with a maximum of three books.<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n 6-<\/span><\/b> Undergraduate students and staff can borrow books for three days, with a limit of one book.<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n 7-<\/span><\/b> There is no external borrowing for graduate students outside of Al-Furat Al-Awsat University; only internal borrowing and photocopying are allowed.<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n 8-<\/span><\/b> Faculty members and staff are fined 250 Iraqi Dinars per day for each delayed book.<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n 9-<\/span><\/b> Students are fined 100 Iraqi Dinars per day for each delayed book.<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n

\n 10-<\/span><\/b> In case of loss or damage to a book, the borrower is fined double the book\u2019s catalog price or double the market value, whichever is higher.<\/span><\/b>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Electronic Loan Program<\/span><\/b>:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

The library follows an electronic loan system that tracks all books, including their titles, authors, copies available, and classification numbers. To borrow books electronically, students must have a library ID. The borrowing process involves the following steps:<\/span><\/p>\n

1- <\/span>Open the borrowing screen.<\/span><\/p>\n

2- <\/span>Select the book classification.<\/span><\/p>\n

3- <\/span>Choose the book title.<\/span><\/p>\n

4- <\/span>Press the “Borrow” option.<\/span><\/p>\n

5- <\/span>Enter the ID number.<\/span><\/p>\n

6- <\/span>Verify the book details before submitting the borrowing request.<\/span><\/p>\n

7- <\/span>Submit the borrowing request.<\/span><\/p>\n

The request is received electronically through a computer system connected to the borrowing screen, after which the requested book is handed over to the student.
