In line with the pillars of the National Strategy for Iraqi Women and in accordance with the directives of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Karbala Technical Institute organized a series of educational activities to raise awareness about the dangers and various forms of violence and ways to confront it. These activities were held in conjunction with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, and included the following highlights:
• An awareness seminar titled “The Dangers of Violence, Its Types, and Ways to Confront It.”
• A documentary screening titled “What is Gender-Based Violence?” for students of the Computer Technologies and Software Department.
• A collaborative seminar with the Karbala Police Directorate titled “Addiction and Domestic Violence.”
Additionally, the institute designed and distributed electronic posters to educate about the impacts and types of violence, as well as printed posters in various academic departments. These posters provided information on the hotlines of the Ministry of Interior and guidelines on securing social media accounts.
These activities reflect the institute’s commitment to raising awareness among students and the surrounding community about the dangers of violence and its negative effects, as well as promoting preventive measures through effective community partnerships.
