Karbala Polytechnic College held its seventh regular session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Fadel Mohammed Dhaher, Dean of the College, and attended by the Heads of Scientific Departments and a number of directors of administrative divisions and units.

The Dean opened the session by welcoming the council members and attendees, praising their efforts in supporting the scientific and administrative journey of the college. This was followed by honoring a number of professors and staff members in appreciation of their distinguished efforts in accomplishing the tasks assigned to them. The honoring included: (Lecturer Dr. Hanan Abbas Majeed on her scientific promotion to the rank of Assistant Professor; Lecturer Hassan Hadi Kahu on his scientific promotion to the rank of Assistant Professor; Mr. Ibrahim Abdul Wahid Mahdi on obtaining his Master’s degree; Asst. Prof. Abdul Khidhr Aziz Mutashar, Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Adhim, Prof. Dr. Issam Mohammed Ali, Asst. Lect. Doaa Falah Rasool, and Mrs. Zainab Jawad Ahmed for their efforts in preparing specialized booklets for practical experiments; and Asst. Lect. Noor Abbas Najm, Mrs. Inaam Abdul Ali Shaker, and Mrs. Naima Kadhim Abd for their efforts in their continuous follow-up to ensure our university’s appearance in global rankings).

Following this, the session was officially opened, and the council discussed the items listed on the agenda. The Dean emphasized the directives of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University regarding the completion of the study curricula before the examinations, and the completion of the scientific plan for all departments, as well as enhancing scientific initiatives and scientific publishing, and emphasizing adherence to official working hours for students and staff.

The session also addressed a number of scientific and administrative issues, including the publication of scientific research by the college’s faculty, discussing the success rates for first-year students, completing the reports of scientific committees, and following up on the minutes of the scientific departments’ councils. In addition, it emphasized the importance of organizing scientific festivals, events, and conferences, and working on preparing plans to create specializations corresponding to those of industrial preparatory schools, in line with the transformation directions at Karbala Polytechnic College.

At the conclusion of the session, the council emphasized the necessity of continuing to work with a team spirit and adhering to university directives to contribute to elevating the scientific and administrative reality of Karbala Polytechnic College and enhancing its academic role in serving the community.
