Within the framework of the Business Administration Technology Department’s interest at Karbala Polytechnic College in enhancing students’ capabilities and qualifying them for the requirements of professional life, the department held a workshop titled “Necessary Skills for Graduates to Prepare for the Labor Market,” in the presence of a gathering of the department’s students.

The workshop, presented by Asst. Lect. Amir Hussein Ali, aimed to shed light on the most important skills a graduate needs to transition from university life to the work environment with confidence and efficiency. It addressed a set of basic skills that contribute to building an integrated professional personality combining academic knowledge, practical skills, and professional behavior.

The workshop also addressed the importance of developing communication skills, teamwork, time management, and professional planning. It emphasized that current labor market requirements are no longer limited to possessing a university degree alone, but require possessing multiple skills that enhance the chances of success and excellence in various professional fields.

The event witnessed distinguished interaction from the students through interventions and discussions that reflected their awareness of the importance of acquiring professional skills alongside scientific achievement. Furthermore, a number of visions and proposals were presented to contribute to enhancing the practical application of the discussed concepts.

Asst. Lect. Amir Hussein Ali affirmed that these scientific activities represent one of the fundamental pillars in developing academic performance and developing students’ skills. They reflect the college’s commitment to providing society with qualified competencies capable of keeping pace with labor market requirements and contemporary cognitive transformations.

This activity comes in the context of the directions of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research aimed at elevating the quality of university education and enhancing the partnership between the academic institution and society.
