The Building and Construction Technology Engineering Department at Karbala Polytechnic College organized a workshop titled “The Pioneering Role of Modern Road Barriers in Increasing Traffic Safety,” presented by Lecturer Dr. Raida Khudair Ali, with the participation of a number of faculty members and staff.
The workshop addressed the introduction of the latest types of flexible road barriers and their uses in reducing traffic accidents and lessening the severity of collisions. It also explained the technical mechanisms for placing these barriers and the appropriate locations for their use, along with the conditions and standards required for their installation.
The workshop also shed light on the most prominent benefits achieved from adopting these technologies in road projects, while reviewing a number of international experiences of countries that apply modern road barrier systems to enhance traffic safety levels.
The organization of this workshop comes within the framework of the college’s keenness to disseminate modern engineering knowledge and develop the skills of its scientific staff, which contributes to supporting infrastructure projects and enhancing the culture of traffic safety.
