Under the patronage of the Dean of Karbala Polytechnic College, Prof. Dr. Fadel Mohammed Dhaher, the college held a joyful celebration on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (Peace Be Upon Him). The event was attended by the Associate Deans and a number of faculty members, staff, and students.
The ceremony began with a fragrant recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha for the souls of Iraq’s righteous martyrs, and then the playing of the Iraqi National Anthem, in an atmosphere prevailed by reverence and national pride.
The ceremony included a speech by the organizing body delivered by the Head of the Medical Laboratory Technology Department, Prof. Dr. Salem Hussein Hassan, during which he emphasized the importance of following the path of Imam Ali (PBUH) in combining knowledge, work, and sublime humanitarian values.
The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Fadel Mohammed Dhaher, also delivered a speech on this occasion, pointing out the educational and value-based role of educational institutions in establishing principles of justice, knowledge, and the rejection of injustice, drawing inspiration from the biography of the Commander of the Faithful (PBUH).
The event featured a religious lecture by Sheikh Ahmed Al-Safi from the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, in which he discussed glimpses of the thought and biography of Imam Ali (PBUH) and their impact on building the human being and society.
The activities included a poetry segment presented by student Mohammed Saad Al-Saadi from the Medical Laboratory Technology Department (Evening Study), in which he expressed love and loyalty to the Commander of the Faithful (PBUH) in a moving literary style.
In a symbolic gesture of honoring, the College Deanship honored Sheikh Ahmed Al-Safi, Sheikh Abdul Karim Al-Juayfari, Mr. Mustafa Mukhlis, and Mr. Haider Shaker, in appreciation of this blessed occasion and its deep spiritual significance.
The ceremony concluded in an atmosphere of joy and delight with the cutting of the birthday cake, with the participation of the Dean and the Sheikh, amidst wide interaction from the attendees.
This event comes within the religious and cultural activities that Karbala Polytechnic College is keen to organize to enhance Islamic and humanitarian values and consolidate the religious and national identity within the university community.
