Dean of Karbala Polytechnic College Inspects Student Affairs and Registration Division

The Department of Accounting Techniques at Karbala Polytechnic College has concluded one of its training programs within the Continuing Education Plan for the 2025–2026 academic year. The program, titled “Governmental Accounting Applications in Public Sector Departments According to the Government Finance Statistics (GFS) System,” was managed by Lecturer Mustafa Hassan Ali (Department Rapporteur), with the participation of Assistant Lecturer Doha Kamal Abdul Karim and Assistant Lecturer Hassanein Ali Salman as program lecturers.
The training program covered a range of specialized topics, most notably: the concept and objectives of governmental accounting, accounting bases used in governmental measurement, spending capacity theories and their impact on determining government spending, the state’s general budget and its types, the organizational structure of the governmental accounting system (centralization and decentralization), documentary documentation and account analysis in the governmental accounting system, the Government Finance Statistics (GFS) manual, and public expenditures (expenses). Additionally, it included various applied topics related to the reality of work in government departments.
The program concluded with a final test successfully passed by all participants, amidst praise from the lecturers regarding the advanced level of the participants and their interaction with the course topics. This program is part of the department’s efforts to enhance the professional capabilities of staff and support accounting efficiency in accordance with modern systems adopted in the government sector.
