Department of Accounting Techniques at Karbala Polytechnic College Concludes Training Program on “Governmental Accounting Applications in Public Sector Departments According to GFS System”

Karbala Polytechnic College, through its Human Rights Unit and in cooperation with the Human Rights Commission – Karbala Office, organized a festival on the occasion of International Human Rights Day. This year, the event coincided with the anniversary of the Great Iraqi Victory Day, resulting in a celebration that combined the values of human dignity with the spirit of heroism.
The ceremony—emceed by Asst. Lect. Kamal Ali Hussein, Director of the Media and Government Communication Division at the college—began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by reciter Hussein Al-Husseini. This was followed by standing to read Surah Al-Fatiha for the souls of Iraq’s righteous martyrs, and then the playing of the Iraqi National Anthem.
Broad Official Presence The celebration witnessed high-level participation, including: The Governor of Holy Karbala, Engineer Dr. Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi; the Director of the Human Rights Commission in Karbala, Mr. Majid Al-Masoudi; along with several members of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, members of the Karbala Provincial Council, directors of government departments, heads of unions, civil society organizations, and a number of staff and students.
Speeches The speeches opened with an address by the Dean of Karbala Polytechnic College, Prof. Dr. Fadel Mohammed Dhaher, followed by the Governor’s speech, then a speech by Dr. Diaa Al-Safi, and concluded with a speech by the Director of the Human Rights Commission. The speeches addressed the importance of dedicating efforts to human rights and reinforcing values of social justice.
Victory Day and Human Rights Segments The festival included a visual presentation titled “The Epic of Heroic Iraqis” in commemoration of Victory Day and the sacrifices of the security forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). A documentary presentation was also provided by the Human Rights Commission office regarding its efforts in the field of rights protection. The activities also featured a moving theatrical segment depicting the events of the Speicher Massacre, performed by students of the Banking and Finance Technology Department.
Honoring The festival concluded with a ceremony honoring the supporters and participants, presented by the Dean of Karbala Polytechnic College, in appreciation of their efforts and contributions to the success of the event. The College affirmed that victory, peace, and the preservation of rights represent the foundation for building a strong Iraq that preserves the dignity of its citizens, striving to continue instilling these principles in the minds of its students and the path of society.
