The Accounting Technology Department at Karbala Polytechnic College organized a field visit to the Central Library Division. The visit, attended by a group of professors and students, aimed to familiarize participants with the information resources and services available to enhance their cultural knowledge and develop their research skills.
During the tour, students were introduced to information retrieval mechanisms using both paper and electronic catalogs. They learned how to utilize title pages, introductions, and indices of books and scientific journals in both physical and digital formats. Additionally, they were briefed on internal borrowing procedures and the issuance of library cards for students and staff.
The students expressed their appreciation to the Central Library staff for their cooperation and valuable guidance, which significantly aided in developing their research and information access skills.
Assistant Lecturer Yas Khudhair Ali Al-Ghanimi, Official of the Central Library Division, highlighted the importance of these visits in strengthening the relationship between students and the library as a fundamental source of knowledge. He invited faculty and students to visit frequently, utilize the available services, and submit suggestions to help improve the library’s performance.
