Karbala Polytechnic College Seminar Focuses on Balancing Academics and Mental Health

As part of its 2025-2026 guidance plan, the Department of Accounting Technologies hosted a student seminar titled “A Point of Balance: Academics and Mental Health.” The session was presented by Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Ali Khudhayer.

The event was attended by the Head of the Department, Dr. Haider Jameel, the department rapporteur, members of the educational guidance committee, as well as several faculty, staff, and second-year students.

The seminar was designed to enhance students’ psychological awareness and promote a supportive academic environment that prioritizes both educational achievement and mental well-being. Key topics included:

• The importance of mental health in improving academic performance.
• Strategies for achieving balance through regular sleep, positive thinking, and relaxation.
• Techniques for managing academic stress and avoiding its negative effects.
• The importance of seeking psychological support when needed.

The session was highly interactive, featuring a practical workshop managed by the lecturer. Attendees were divided into groups, each supervised by a faculty member, to foster a spirit of cooperation and collective thinking.
