Karbala Technical Institute welcomed a delegation from the Political Office of Al-Sadiqoun Movement, headed by Political Deputy Mr. Maytham Al-Aaraji, in a visit aimed at fostering stronger ties between educational institutions and political forces, and exploring avenues for mutual cooperation in support of national and educational development.
The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Fadhel Mohammed Thahir, Dean of Karbala Technical Institute, along with a number of department heads and faculty members. During the meeting, Dr. Thahir expressed his appreciation for this initiative, which reflects a growing interest from political entities in supporting education and its institutions. He presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Al-Aaraji in recognition of his notable role and ongoing efforts in supporting the educational process in Karbala Province.
The visiting delegation toured the institute’s facilities, including its green spaces and campus infrastructure, which reflect the administration’s commitment to fostering a holistic educational environment. A highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the new Career Development and Employment Unit headquarters—a significant step toward supporting students and graduates through training opportunities and employment pathways.
Mr. Rasoul Taher Al-Asadi, Head of the Career Development and Employment Unit, provided a comprehensive overview of the unit’s operations. He highlighted key initiatives, including a job fair held earlier this year in collaboration with several private sector companies, and the unit’s annual plan to offer workshops and training programs in both soft and technical skills. The unit has also signed a number of cooperation agreements with private entities aimed at enhancing graduate competencies and preparing them for the job market.
As a gesture of appreciation, the unit presented Mr. Al-Aaraji with a Shield of Excellence and Innovation, honoring his support and commitment to strengthening the link between education and the labor market.
The tour also included a visit to the Institute’s laboratories and workshops, where the delegation viewed the available technical capabilities—particularly CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, which require advanced operational skills. At the conclusion of the visit, a handcrafted item produced in the workshop was presented to Mr. Al-Aaraji as a token of appreciation.
This visit underscores the importance of synergy between educational institutions and broader societal and political sectors, contributing to the enrichment of the academic process and opening wider horizons for students and graduates to serve their communities.
