Delegation from Karbala Technical Institute Visits Roads and Bridges Directorate to Explore Prospects for Joint Cooperation

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships between academic institutions and governmental agencies, a delegation from Karbala Technical Institute, headed by Professor Dr. Fadhel Mohammed Thahir, Dean of the Institute, conducted a working visit to the Roads and Bridges Directorate in the holy city of Karbala. The dean was accompanied by a number of faculty members, and the delegation was received by several officials from the Directorate.

During the meeting, both sides discussed prospects for mutual cooperation in various fields, including the organization of training courses, specialized lectures, and the exchange of expertise. The agenda also included practical training opportunities for institute students to prepare them for integration into the job market. Officials from the Directorate expressed interest in leveraging the academic expertise of the Institute to address engineering challenges facing current projects through applied studies and scientific research.

Professor Dr. Fadhel Mohammed Thahir emphasized the importance of establishing effective communication channels between the Institute and governmental institutions. He noted that the visit is part of the Institute’s ongoing efforts to enhance its societal role and contribute to the development of the technical workforce in the province.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean honored several officials from the Roads and Bridges Directorate with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their contributions to fostering collaboration between the two institutions. Certificates of participation were also awarded to engineers who completed the training course titled “Types and Specifications of Horizontal Curves in Road Construction,” which was previously organized by the Institute in cooperation with the Directorate.

It is worth noting that this visit is part of a series of meetings organized by Karbala Technical Institute with various governmental departments and industrial institutions in the province, aimed at promoting institutional integration, advancing the educational process, and contributing effectively to solving practical challenges faced by related entities.
